Time Bandit - Outremer 51
Offshore Performance Catamaran
2014
Asking Price - £610,000 GBP
Non VAT paid - ideal for non-EU buyer or EU import
From the award-winning Outremer brand, the Outremer 51 is a highly regarded offshore performance cruising catamaran, designed for fast, safe and efficient ocean passage making. This vessel is ideally suited to sailors who value genuine sailing performance, safety, comfort and autonomy over the heavier displacement approach of traditional comfort cruisers, whether one or two hulls. Its design combines space, luxury and security with long, easily driven hulls that deliver comfortable cruising at consistently high average speeds.
The fully enclosed cockpit provides a safe and protected working and living area for crew, guests and family alike, especially when sailing with young children aboard. This level of cockpit security is relatively uncommon among cruising catamarans, many of which feature open cockpits — and often exposed transom steering positions — directly vulnerable to the sea.
First launched in 2014, this privately owned example has been carefully maintained, comprehensively upgraded, and is offered with flexible offshore completion arrangements outside EU customs territory — suitable for buyers taking delivery outside EU waters. Time Bandit is one of the very few Outremer 51s for sale in Europe for under €1,000,000.
The current owners have spent the past seven years living aboard, cruising two-handed from New Caledonia to Australia and Tasmania, through Indonesia, South Africa, the Caribbean and the US East Coast, before arriving in the Mediterranean in 2025. Throughout these voyages, Time Bandit has consistently proven herself strong, safe, seaworthy, impressively fast and above all, thoroughly enjoyable to sail — in all conditions.

With a complete new rig installed in 2022, new mainsail and Solent in 2022 and new Code 0 in 2021, she is fully prepared for local cruising, trans-Atlantic passages and extended worldwide voyaging, and ready for immediate departure.

GENERAL LAYOUT
Time Bandit offers comfortable accommodation for up to six guests across three double cabins, thoughtfully arranged for extended cruising and life afloat, each with practical shelving and well-planned storage.
The port hull is dedicated to a private owner’s suite, featuring a spacious aft cabin with memory foam double berth designed for comfort at sea. Forward is a generous en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower, toilet, and a large vanity with basin and mirrored storage. The companionway is equally well considered, with a full-height double-door locker with shelving and a half-drop hanging locker with sliding closure, providing excellent additional storage for long passages.
The starboard hull provides two further guest cabins, forward and aft, both with double berths and privacy doors, creating a welcoming and flexible layout for family or guests. This hull also includes a separate shower compartment with a discreetly integrated washing machine, alongside a separate toilet and vanity.
The saloon is bright, open and designed for comfortable life onboard, with a well-equipped galley featuring a double sink, a dedicated navigation station, and a folding dining table with integrated wine storage. The saloon and cockpit sit on a single level, creating an effortless flow between interior and exterior spaces without steps — a rare and highly valued feature that enhances both safety and everyday living at sea and at anchor.
The cockpit is accessed by two steps down from deck level and is fully protected from the sea, forming a secure and sheltered outdoor living space. It is arranged around a central table with integrated storage and custom seating cushions, creating a natural gathering point underway or in harbour.
Storage has been designed with long-distance cruising in mind, including four lazarettes, two additional compartments beneath the cockpit steps, and dedicated sail, line and fender lockers forward in both hulls. The starboard hull is also adapted to safely stow the dinghy outboard for extended offshore passages if desired.
Oversized water and diesel tankage was specified from new, enhancing autonomy, range and independence for bluewater cruising. Twin fuel tanks are fitted, complemented by additional storage within the holding lazarettes.
Access to the water is via twin stern steps, with a swimming ladder neatly stowed beneath the starboard step, completing a design that blends practicality, safety and the quiet pleasure of life at sea.
