Electrical - Power Generation
In September 2024 we upgraded from AGM to (professionally installed) Lithium house batteries. The 640 amp hour bank meets all our live aboard needs. All reliant systems, Dessalator watermaker, D400 were upgraded to be Lithium compatible.
D400 Wind Generator
The D400 features a powerful 3-phase alternator and computer designed rotor blades optimised for low speed , user friendly operation. Ideal for the tropics giving 24 hour power generation.
Honda Power
To top off the batteries or provide additional “mains” power when required, hot water, power washing or running the washing machine for example, we fire up the Honda. Simple, reliable and lightweight power.
MAINS POWER 220V
When you need “mains power” the Victron invertor/charger converts 12v to the house and 220v to provide “mains power” for the fan assisted oven, TV and our portable appliances such hairdryers, vacuums and electric maintenance tools, drills, polishers, power washer etc…
Solar
In conjunction with the D400, 540 watts of solar mounted on the davits meets most of our needs, most of the time. An additional 400 watts of portable solar provides added capacity at anchor, if and when required.
