Why Outremer?
With the Outremer 51, the yard made a significant step toward creating an exceptional bluewater catamaran. Christophe Barreau's design offers one of the best compromises for performance, comfort, and ease of handling in long-distance cruising. Building on the experience with the Outremer 49, the Outremer 51 presents an optimized version. She features extended transoms, an improved salon layout, a walk around cockpit table, and enhanced visibility for greater comfort and functionality. Thanks to her slim hulls and clean lines, she offers exceptional sailing performance with the perfect blend of stability and speed. Time Bandit, an owner's version, with three cabins, has been sailed by a husband and wife team, around the world, in most conditions, from calms in Indonesia to force nine in the Southern Ocean. The cockpit and salon layouts allow great visibility whether on deck or while comfortably sitting in the salon. Whether at anchor or surfing at 15 knots plus, the crew can relax in comfort. Time Bandit can be steered from the interior forward-facing navigation station. If it’s a bit cool or inclement outside, this is where you will find the on-watch. The secure, U-shaped galley with a 3-burner glass hob, fan-assisted oven, and microwave makes cooking a breeze, whether at anchor or sailing. Life is to short to sail an ugly or slow boat!
